I started using Vox as work blocked livejournal and I was addicted. I now use multiple blogging sites, at least 2 microblogging sites plus a couple of picture sites and keep trying out new things! If you don't see me here much you can try find me via my wordpress welcome page that has a list of other places you can find me on the left hand side:
http://bluecatonline.wordpress.com/welcome/
I also use Ping.fm to post / blast a single post to multiple locations ~ I notice the formatting comes out a bit poorly but I can come back and re-format.
Also, in case you think I don't read you, I have a number of Voxers on my rss feed ~ OK, if I don't log in then I don't get to see any neighbourhood only posts etc but.....
Hopefully I will get around to coming back here properly every so often. Work and life is busy and I keep going 'OOOOh! Shiney!' at new websites.
Hello Vox,
I realise I don't post here much, too little time and brain matter. Even on LJ most of my alleged posts are actually concatenations of the day's tweets pushed there via LoudTwitter. So probably one of my resolutions should be post more! but what :P I think I should try, on a weekly basis, to blog seriously. OK, maybe not serious posts necessarily but actually try to connect and say something other than 'here are my tweets' and 'oooh, cute link'. Let us see. (although I do have things set up so posting to Vox pushes a link to Twitter! Sad geek girl, very sad geek girl!)
However, I will still post / repost links and weird stuff because, well, I love them!
Like this stuff:
Boy with nazi leader's name denied ShopRite cake Mr & Mrs Campbell's three children are JoyceLynn Aryan Nation, Adolph Hitler and Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie (Hinler = Himmler).
About.com / 2008's Top Weird News Stories I have actually missed a couple of these!
Listverse.com / Top 10 unusual cooking concepts *drools*
BBC / Legal papers served via Facebook ~ Does anyone else get creeped out by the eye image used for Facebook? It is the fact that the word Facebook is NOT reversed on the eye ball.
Today I have been fuming for various very silly reasons ~ mostly over other people's problems posted on LJ that make me just wish for a magic wand to cast Happily Ever After spells on huge numbers of people. Failing that I want it to be very strong and spiky and thus bury it into the skulls of those that are failing to Have A Clue!
*must think about making such a wand*
*wonders where to get ninja star for end legally*
In other news I have signed up for NaNoWriMo ~ as blue_cat ~ now let us see if I my word count rises above 000. My goal is >2,000 FWIW, and to say I tried.
Oh, and not to accidentally qualify for The Bulwer-Lytton Fiction Contest (I live in terror).
My internet that is.
OK, back to the beginning ~ Hubbie has a training course in the US (NJ someplace) and left on Sunday.
Between us leaving the house at ~10am, and me returning at around 3pm, the internet connection died.
I tried everything I knew, quickstart wizard, rebooting via computer, switching the router on & off. Nada :(
Today I have:
- traded txt messages with hubbie
- Sat on the phone with BT, who provide the wires into the house
- Sat on the phone with Be, who provide the stuff going down the wires into our house
- Sat on the phone with Hubbie (via cheap number deals) who eventually managed to try one last thing..
Gods I am so bloody addicted! Want to know how dependent you are on the internet community? Turn it off for a while. I think I need it more than caffine and that is saying something.
And on that note I am going to bed. It is gone midnight. Sigh.
at least in some sense :) Work continues tough, but not as insane. I am still trying to kick my caffine habit *twitches* and trying to find time to upgrade a D&D Pixie Warlock character from 5th to 9th level by Saturday.
Content??
Ohh! Fairy winged pigs flying past my office window, with little baskets in their mouths... why are there flames from the baskets??
(sorry!)
HELP! Something is eating my tweets! *Sob*
Hmmm, attention span means that twitter of 140 character is the most intelligent I can be right now I think.
There is a lot of stuff going on in my life, not major, just low grade Stuff (TM) and I am finding myself being hazy in so many ways. Like keeping up to date with the blogs I read on Vox, Livejournal, Twitter, via RSS, Twitter and randomly. Sigh.
10 days.
I have a cold. This is annoying as I also have holiday next week.
However it is Halloween so sweets, sprouts and apples for the dear witchlings and ghosties tonight.
Trick or treat?
Of course this always brings out the discussion about is it right / wrong / demanding candy with menaces / excuse for egg throwing and mayhem.
So, a few weird tales for you:
Undead No, Unsober Yes! A man who fell asleep on a train after a Hallowe'en fancy dress party prompted a police investigation in Germany.
Britain's most haunted Blickling Hall topped a list of the National Trust's top 10 most haunted houses which was compiled to coincide with Halloween.
Both in Roleplay and Reality.
Last night was quite a cool roleplay - we fought zombies! I did get injured (-4 strength! OW!) but survived and the others beat off zombie hordlets, inluding 9 who's sole function seemed to be enjoying a nice meal with the necromancer! Sadly he surrendered :P Possibly a good thing but makes it more difficult to justify looting him/his abode as we are HORRIBLY lawful and Just and Good (well, I have suspicions but we are a party of Justicar/Inquisitor types). I also managed not to fall asleep during it.
Today however I am fighting off my own inner zombie who wishes to be left alone to wander and go 'mmmmmm.... caffine' at things and possibly agressively sleep with a little cat petting for strenuous activity. Work sadly gets in the way of that concept.
Hmmm, 5:30pm at work - my 'coffee break' is over. Back to work.
*whip snap*
I am alive :) Actually, over the weekend I was posting quite a bit to Livejournal and have imported a few of those here (explaining why I suddenly seem to have posted in the past!).
Work is busy, home is where the kitty is. I have nothing much to say other than:
Happy Autumn / Fall for the Northerners
Happy Spring for the Southerners!
can read & cross post to LJ but not log in (or could for 1 day). If anyone comes on over (you can, I think, comment using LJ's open ID option, or there is an anon possibility) ->
For Jenny: My journey to work is about 5 minutes by car. It is 400 somethings (yards? meters?). But there are no sidewalks on a busy road with no houses or something. It isn't quite as bad as walking along the M25, more akin to the A30 - but no sidewalks, a sloping grassy area.
For CD: I am in NJ. I don't want to say more, I do not identify my place of work online. Just .. manners. ANd I like work. Really, even when I moan a bit. I don't want to be Dooced :)
