OK, this may be an odd place to put info about a Twitter Campaign but... I know there are artists out there and I don't know any info other than that I am provided with.
Jon Engle, an illustrator, is being sued by StockArt for copyright infringement on work he claims is his own and they claim he stole from artists on their site.
His blog post is here: JonEngle.com/accused
Not only has he been sent a bill for 'illegal' use of (his own) images but they are contacting clients of his to say he is under investigation for copyright infringement which has led him to be banned from some other work sites and caused quite a bit of problems for him with clients!
You may have seen some of his work without knowing it as he has worked on some TV programmes etc.
OK, I confess to knowing only 1 side of this story, but the info sucks.
Moral: If you have work that you want to retain the rights to you must prove you created it, and when. Don't assume everyone will play nice or fair. If you can't prove you had it before they did, you may be in trouble!

Hello Vox,
I realise I don't post here much, too little time and brain matter. Even on LJ most of my alleged posts are actually concatenations of the day's tweets pushed there via LoudTwitter. So probably one of my resolutions should be post more! but what :P I think I should try, on a weekly basis, to blog seriously. OK, maybe not serious posts necessarily but actually try to connect and say something other than 'here are my tweets' and 'oooh, cute link'. Let us see. (although I do have things set up so posting to Vox pushes a link to Twitter! Sad geek girl, very sad geek girl!)
However, I will still post / repost links and weird stuff because, well, I love them!
Like this stuff:
Boy with nazi leader's name denied ShopRite cake Mr & Mrs Campbell's three children are JoyceLynn Aryan Nation, Adolph Hitler and Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie (Hinler = Himmler).
About.com / 2008's Top Weird News Stories I have actually missed a couple of these!

BBC / Legal papers served via Facebook ~ Does anyone else get creeped out by the eye image used for Facebook? It is the fact that the word Facebook is NOT reversed on the eye ball.
Well, I do have 2 different blogs... (Livejournal & Vox) .. and I do twitter... and I have a Nokia N95 which is web-surf-tastic.. and I play Travian on Server 2... but am I addicted?
I do have my N95 plugged in by my bed, but that is a convenient plug, and I do occassionally tweet when I can't sleep... But I don't wake up to do so.
A growing number of people are becoming addicted to their mobile phones, Blackberries and other digital devices, researchers are warning. Techno addiction can become so bad that people wake up several times a night to check their e-mails and text messages.
It can even interfere with an addict's job as he feels he has to be linked up all the time, says Professor Nada Kakabadse of Northampton University. Evidence emerging from a small-scale study of 360 people carried out by Prof Kakabadse and her colleagues suggested up to a third were addicted.
Hmmmm, *grin* maybe a bit. Are you?
I am using twitter, daily, and getting my Tweets pushed to Vox once a day via LoudTwitter. Currently though these are private (me only) as I just can't decide to make them public.
Is this strange?
I use both Vox & Twitter (& Livejournal).
When I post on Vox, it sends a tweet to my twitter account.
Daily, at midnight, LoudTwitter (a service) pushes that days tweets to vox which includes the tweets telling my twitterverse that I voxed.
Currently the Daily Tweets are private, to save the universe from implosion as you read on vox that I tweeted that I posted on Vox.
Now if it wasn't private, would my LoudTwitter vox post then also get pushed to twitter to alert the world that I had voxed my twitters including my vox posts?
HELP! Something is eating my tweets! *Sob*
Hmmm, attention span means that twitter of 140 character is the most intelligent I can be right now I think.
There is a lot of stuff going on in my life, not major, just low grade Stuff (TM) and I am finding myself being hazy in so many ways. Like keeping up to date with the blogs I read on Vox, Livejournal, Twitter, via RSS, Twitter and randomly. Sigh.
10 days.
Pass the asprin now!
Jackhammer drilling outside,
no diet coke break :p
(Haiku) ~ Original Post/Tweet
Explanation: I use twitter, and realised that it is ideal for Haiku being restricted to 140 characters anyway. So I resolved to Tweet Haiku. But I also want to save them here....
Hum, playing with rss feeds & things on twitter, and thinking again of how to back up my LJ. There are many ways I am sure, but ideally I want one that preserves comments.
In a perfect world I would have a searchable non-editable 'mirror' on my own computer.
Hey, girl can dream :)
And yes, I have a twitter, I have a vox, a Zooomr, a technocrati, and I have an LJ. All of which are effectively free, bar my LJ and that is permanent now.
But still....
ANd yes, I have a facebook, and a Yahoo, and a flikr accounts. but they are not in the name of blue_cat (honestly blue_cat_online is twitter cause blue_cat is taken by someone who never posted). Hisss..
When LJ/Vox went down the other day I was left scrabbling for info ~ for some reason I didn't get the e-mail vox sent out ~ and found, via LJ Herald etc that SixApart has a twitter account that actually had information!!!
Wow!!!
and, er, I sort of accidentally ended up with a Twitter too.
Sadly my standard LJ/Vox name (Blue_Cat) had been taken (by someone who has never used it *growl*) but hey ho, late come less choice.
So, I am blue_cat_online there. Same icon. Shall possibly work on a background... maybe :)
er, and I am addicted (apparently) having made 32 posts in less than 3 days!
